Let us speak of the difference between “quality” and “enjoyment.”
On a technical quality level, I put Thor in the top half of Marvel movies, but not at the top of the top half. Mostly well scripted, mostly well cast, but a storyline that was pretty predictable even by action movie standards.
On an enjoyment level, though? Well, I confess that it may be in part to my bias toward fantasy, and in part to how much I loved much of the casting and dialog, but in terms of how much fun I had, I put near the top of the comic book movies list. I will own this, and I may see it a second time in the theater. 
And this coming from someone who was never that big a follower of the character, even back in my comic-devouring days.
