Day the Third

6464 / 70000 words. 9% done!

Given that I got zero work done during the day today (for numerous reasons that I don’t care to go into), and managed to crank out all of this in the past few hours, I think I can be fairly happy that I squeezed in a full day’s work. 😛

Day the Fourth

And within a couple hundred words of the end of Chapter One.

8495 / 70000 words. 12% done!

The chapter’s actually coming in a little longer than I expected, but this early in the book, I’m not prepared to guess what that means–if anything–for the overall length.

Day the Fifth

10479 / 70000 words. 15% done!

I’m actually a hair shy of my normal daily minimum. (I’m at 1,900 and change, rather than 2K or above.) But this is a really good place to stop, in as much as it’s a place that’ll be easy to pick up from. And since I’m not going to get to work this weekend, as I’ll be visiting with family, a spot from where it’s easy to pick up is fairly important.

Or, you know, I’ll decide that I’m just making excuses, and do some more work this evening. One or the other.

Day the 8th

17014 / 70000 words. 24% done!

I assume it’s obvious that I’m titling these progress updates based on working days, not real days. You know, given that this is the 8th day, but it’s the 14th "real" day since my first installment.

Just in case there was any confusion. Which there probably wasn’t. But now there might be. Or something. I should stop typing now.

The observant reader…

…will have noticed that I haven’t put up any word count statuses on the Work in Progress over the past few days.

That’s because the WiP has, very briefly, become the Work Not in Progress. I’m taking a few days away from it to work on a short (but brain-draining) freelance gig. I can’t talk about what it is, yet, but it’s pretty cool.

And I should be back to the novel by the end of the week, so if you haven’t seen any new word count updates by Monday at the latest, feel free to poke me. 😉

Thief’s Covenant: A Widdershins Adventure

"coming_soon" Credits: Sole author.

Notes: Formerly known as Household Gods.

Set in a more Renaissance-style setting, rather than the more traditional Medieval fantasy, Thief’s Covenant is also my first foray into Young Adult fiction. That said, I think all my adult readers will find it just as appealing as my others works.
