Neverwinter Campaign Setting

""The Neverwinter Campaign Setting"" was published by Wizards of the Coast for Dungeons & Dragons 4E.

Credits: A few of the character themes, a few of the factions in the "Factions and Foes" section, and the bulk of the gazetteer write-ups for the Neverwinter Woods, Gauntlgrym, Evernight, and Thay.

Notes: Actually my first Forgotten Realms gig. I really had a blast working on this one.

An open letter to Fandom

Laurence Fishburne has been cast as Perry White in the new Superman movie. Over in the Ultimates line of Marvel Comics, the new Spider-Man is a young bi-racial teen named Miles Morales.

If you dislike Fishburne as an actor, or if you’re upset that they killed Peter Parker (even in a reality separate from mainstream Marvel Comics), fine. No problem. But if your objection to either or both is that the actor/character isn’t white?

Shut the hell up and keep it to yourself. You’re making the rest of us geeks–and the rest of us human beings, for that matter–look bad.

(And I wish to hell this was just me being preemptive, but I’ve already seen lots of racist commentary on both issues, and it turns my stomach.)

Hey, movie buffs!

What say you: Is the original Jaws properly classified as a horror movie, or is it not?

Justify/explain your answer.

So, Captain America…

I don’t know if I’m prepared to call this the best Marvel movie to date. Need to see it, and some of the others, a few more times.

But I am prepared to say that, in terms of mood/tone/feel/aesthetics, it got absolutely everything right. Seriously. It’s brilliant in that regard alone. My biggest complaint is that it wasn’t about eight hours longer, so we could see a lot more of Cap’s missions during WWII.

Between this and X-Men: First Class, I kind of want at least half of all comic book movies to be period pieces from here on out.

ComicCon (noun)

A period of time during which non-traveling writers and freelancers can expect to receive absolutely no answers to any of their questions. 😛

(Have fun, guys. I hate you.)
