May 30, 2018: Yet Another New Book Announcement

Trapped in the form of the knight who supposedly slew him, the dragon Tzavalantsaval–with a loathsome goblin steward as his only true ally–struggles to navigate the Kirresci royal court and humanity itself, even as politics and intrigues he scarcely understands push the southern kingdoms ever nearer to open war.

Ash and Ambition, book one of "Nor Fang, Nor Fire," coming soon from Ari Marmell and Dragon Moon Press.

May 4, 2018: BookBub

This isn’t major news or anything, but I now have an author account over at BookBub.com. It’s a site that has a number of blogs and news bits about publishing, but what’s most relevant is that they do giveaways and alert people to releases and sales/discounts on the authors they follow. And the more people who follow a particular author–at least if I understand the model correctly–the more likely that author is to be included in giveaways, and for news to go out about sales.

So, if you don’t already have an account over there, it’s worth signing up. And if you’d be so kind as to follow my author account, it’d be good for both of us.  🙂

More actual news soon.

January 15, 2018: More Oberon

Well, here we are. The first post of 2018, after a news-lite 2017. Hopefully I’ll have a lot more to share with you this year. I certainly hope to be more productive.

To start with, how about a release date? The fourth Mick Oberon book, entitled In Truth and Claw, is currently in editing, and is apparently scheduled to hit shelves on August 7th. (Though I imagine that date is subject to change.)

You can already pre-order it on Amazon, if you’d care to do so, and of course I’ll be putting up other links as they become available. I’m also hoping to have a cover I can share with you soon.

Hope you all had a great new year!

August 28, 2017: Harvey

The sights and stories coming out of southeast Texas right now would be horrifying under any circumstances, but they’re hitting me especially hard. I grew up in Houston. I still have friends and family there. I have to do something.

It won’t be much, because I can’t do much. I don’t have a lot of money, and as an author, my income is erratic. But something.

So I will be donating at least half the profits on all three of my self-published e-books–The Conqueror’s ShadowThe Warlord’s Legacy, and Strange New Words–to relief efforts, between now and the end of September. Similarly, I’ll be donating at least half my September Patreon income.

(I say "at least half" because, as I mentioned, my income is unpredictable. If I happen to sign a new novel contract, or get a substantial freelance job, I may be able to afford to do more than half. But it’ll be half at bare minimum.)

If you don’t have an e-copy of one or more of those books, or wanted to subscribe to my Patreon for a month and see what it’s about (even if you don’t wind up sticking around after that), please consider doing so now. I can’t tell you how much I’d appreciate it.
